PTA
What is the PTA?
The Prior Weston Parent Teachers Association (PTA) has two main purposes,
to arrange social events such as the school BBQ/disco and to raise funds
through a range of activities such as the Auction of Promises.
Social events give parents, carers and teachers opportunities to meet each other informally, make friends and exchange ideas and information. For example the Quiz night is a great way of having fun with other parents.
Fund-raising events generate a lot of money for subsiding trips and journeys, making sure every child can go on a trip, as well as helping to make other events throughout the year (such as Maths and Science week and the summer ‘Happening’) as brilliant and inspired as possible.
Currently the PTA is subsidising about 50% of the cost of each school journey.
The PTA is great way for families to get directly involved with the school
through volunteering their time or talents to help out the teaching staff.
We really rely on volunteers to help get events together and want to get
as many people as possible involved. If you are interested in the PTA
